Intern hybrid potato breeding
What do we offer…
As intern in our hybrid potato breeding program, you will assist one of our breeders. You will generate and analyse your own data within this project. This entails practical work in the field and glass house, as well as the analysis of phenotypic and genetic data. Furthermore, you join our team members to get an insight into the other breeding and research activities at our station. This internship is a great opportunity to learn about an innovative approach to potato breeding and to develop your skills in practical breeding and the analysis of genetic data.
The internship is designed to take 5 to 6 months and should cover the months July, August and September 2020. We offer a fair salary. We offer you to live in our guest house on the breeding station, which is equipped with everything necessary for a longer stay.
What we are looking for…
You are an enthusiastic student of agronomy or related field, who is keen to learn about breeding and plant genetics, and who likes hands-on work just as data crunching.
- M.Sc. study in plant sciences, plant biotechnology or related field
- Good proficiency in English, Dutch is a plus
