Aardevo started in 2019 as a joint venture between KWS SAAT, a global player in seed breeding, and J.R. Simplot Company, one of the largest potato processors in the world. Molecular Breeder

What do we offer…

As molecular breeder, you make an essential contribution to our growing hybrid potato breeding program by leading all marker-related activities. In this function, you manage our marker pipeline from discovery to application in germplasm selection. This entails sequence analysis, trait mapping, the handling of big data sets and interpretation of marker data. We offer access to state-of-the-art technology in both molecular techniques and data analysis. You interact closely with our breeding and pre-breeding teams as well as groups at the headquarters of Simplot and KWS. You lead a full-time assistant. We offer a versatile job in an international organization with lots of room for personal growth.

What we are looking for…

You are a pragmatic team player, pro-active and entrepreneurial. You are well organized, keep an eye on costs and are keen to streamline processes. Your passion is genetics and you enjoy, as critical thinker - diligent data analysis. As a finisher you are willing to make the last mile because feasible solutions are important to you.

Your skills…....
  • You have a MSc or PhD in plant breeding, molecular genetics or related field
  • Industry experience is a plus
  • Affinity with software applications for molecular data analysis
  • Professional communication in English; Dutch would be an asset
  • Willingness to occasionally travel (ca. 10 %)
