Field Trials Manager & Agronomist


Aardevo started in 2019 as a joint venture between KWS SAAT, a global player in seed breeding, and J.R. Simplot Company, one of the largest potato processors in the world. In Aardevo, the full focus lies on developing diploid hybrid potato varieties. With a growing international team, we are building on a program that has been under development since 2012. With hybrid breeding technology, our aim is to drastically accelerate the development of new potato varieties: Aardevo is working on a new future for potato breeding and cultivation.


Do you want to join to the evolution of potatoes at the interface of research and product development? Aardevo offers a unique opportunity for an experienced Field Trials Manager & Agronomist in the agronomy team, who makes an essential contribution to the growing hybrid potato breeding program!


You will lead the development and expansion of Aardevo’s field trial network in the Netherlands and EU countries. This role is the point contact for these Aardevo activities and responsible for communicating strategies for trial management to stakeholders in field activities. This role also involves trial seed and material logistics, communication with trial site managers, and trial inspections throughout the year. This role is important for developing informative conclusions from trials on this exciting new crop. This in turn translates to being integral to protocol development and improvement of field management.

BSc or MSc in the field of agronomy or crop science (or related fields)

Proven expertise in crop management practices; preferably potato

Practical experience in designing and managing field trials and comparing different management practices

Solid knowledge in data management and statistical analysis

Proven record keeping, data management and reporting expertise

Professional communication in English; Dutch would be an asset

Dutch or European Driver’s license

Willingness and ability to occasionally travel (ca. 20 %)
