BREEDING ASSISTANT (M/F/D)
Full time I located in Nagele (NL) | at the earliest opportunity
In this role you will assist in planning and execution of our diploid hybrid potato breeding program. This role will start as a one year fixed-term contract with the prospect of a permanent position afterwards.
Your tasks:
- Planning and preparing trials using digital tools
- Communicating regularly with the operation teams
- Assisting with phenotyping, implementation and follow-up of trials in the greenhouse, field, during processing and storage
- Curating data and importing it into our breeding database
- Analyzing data and making reports
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and quality control measures
Your profile:
- Vocational college level (MBO), bachelor’s level (HBO) or MSc in plant breeding , agriculture or comparable
- Work experience is a plus
- Pragmatic and hands-on mentality
- Communicative and supportive team player
- Affinity for data management and analysis, accurate and organized way of working
- Business fluent in English language, Dutch is a plus
- Dutch/European driving license, willingness to travel occasionally
- Ability to work irregular hours during peak breeding seasons
- Comfortable working in outdoor field conditions and able to perform the physical tasks associated with field trials and crop evaluations
